Traditional Values Teaching Project

Starting in April 2023, the Otandastar Qory initiated a significant project that funds educators providing offline classes in traditional Kazakh arts and sports, including dombra (musical instrument), dancing, Kazakh kuresi (wrestling), archery, togyzkumalak (traditional game), and other aspects of national culture. These classes are conducted in regions with Kazakh diaspora communities abroad, with the primary goal of promoting traditional art and national sports. The project serves to rekindle a sense of national identity and raise awareness of Kazakh arts (national dance, dombra, needlework) and sports (togyzkumalak, kazaksha kures).

Since the project's launch, we have received approximately 30 applications from 10 countries, spanning both near and distant regions. Presently, 18 courses are actively running across six countries, including Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and the USA.

Over 200 students have enrolled in these courses, and between April and September 2023, a total of 1,152 instructional hours have been delivered.
