The Jas Qazaq Summer Ethno-Camp

The «Jas Qazaq» Summer Ethno-Camp is eagerly anticipated by Kazakh children living abroad. This event has already been successfully conducted three times, attracting the participation of over 400 children from nearly 15 different countries.

The primary objective of the camp is to acquaint children of the Kazakh diaspora, regardless of their geographical location, with the historical homeland of Kazakhstan. Furthermore, the camp's program is designed to foster a deeper understanding of the Kazakh language, history, cultural values, and heritage.

Over a span of two weeks, children engage in various activities, including language courses, archery, horseback excursions through forests, and other exciting sports. They also acquire skills such as yurt-making and attend dombra playing lessons.

The inaugural camp took place from July 10 to July 24, 2019, at the «Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools» AEO in Astana, drawing 150 children from Russia, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Iran, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The second camp was held from July 17 to 28, 2022, at the «IQanat High School of Burabay» in Borovoye, with 84 participants hailing from France, Russia, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Iran, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, and China.

The most recent camp, held at the «IQanat High School of Burabay» from July 1 to 14, 2023, saw the participation of 176 children from 8 countries, including the USA, Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Iran, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan.
