The Otandastar Qory plays a significant role in supporting Kazakh compatriots living abroad and promoting the preservation of their native language and culture through various events and creative competitions. Here are some of the key activities organized by the Otandastar Qory:

International Olympiad in Kazakh language and Literature "Kazakhstan – ata-zhurtym, Kasietim – ana tilim": 146 students from several countries took part in this distance Olympiad, organized with the assistance of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Daryn" in 2021.

 

Creative Competitions as part of Anniversaries: The foundation organized six creative competitions as part of various anniversaries, involving around 440 participants from 17 countries. These competitions celebrate themes related to Kazakh culture and heritage.

  • – «Ana tilim – ardagym» (My native language is my soul)
  • – «Abai Alemi» (The World of Abai)
  • – «Nauryz – bata»
  • – «Kazakhstan zhuregimde!» (Kazakhstan is in my heart)
  • – «Uly Dala Ustazy» (Teacher of the Great Steppe)
  • – «Kazakhstan alem balalarynyn kozimen» (Kazakhstan through the eyes of the children of the world)

 

Creative Competition in Honor of Akhmet Baitursynuly: This competition, held in honor of the 150th anniversary of Akhmet Baitursynuly, involved 118 participants from Kazakh communities in various countries. It aimed to pay tribute to this renowned teacher and awarded winners with valuable prizes and trips to Kazakhstan.

 

International Competition «El Kazyna»: This competition is intended for foreign citizens of Kazakh nationality and focuses on promoting Kazakh national values, history, traditions, and culture. Over 30 participants took part, and the winners were awarded valuable prizes such as laptops, smart watches and others.

 

Competitions Organized by the International Youth Organization «Jas Qazaq»: These competitions were dedicated to celebrating various anniversaries and themes, and they aimed to engage and recognize the talent and creativity of the younger generation:

  • – Competition «Best Work» (dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Alikhan Bokeikhanov)
  • – Competition «Zhambyl Readings» (dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev)
  • – «Evening of Poetry» (dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Mukagali Makataev)
  • – Drawing competitions «Heroes of Kazakh fairy tales»

 

Competitions for Obtaining a Ticket to the Summer Ethnic Camp «Jas Qazaq 2023»: These competitions provided winners with tickets to the summer camp and covered various creative domains:

  • – Competition «Tapkyr bolsan, tauyp kor»
  • – Competition «Suret Alemi» (World of Drawing)
  • – Instrumental competition «Zhana auen» (New melody)
  • – Competition «Uzdik photosuret» (Best photo)
  • – «Telekhikayalar» competition (dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the national channel «Qazaqstan»)
  • – Competition «Uzdik dombyrashy» (Best dombyra player)
  • – Competition «Manerleр oku» (Poetry)

 

Creative Competitions Among Summer Camp Participants: These competitions were part of the summer camp activities and covered various aspects of culture and knowledge:

  • – Competition «Proverbs»
  • – Competition «History of Kazakhstan»
  • – Competition «Best Mobilograph»
  • – Competition «Kos eldin kyran tulgasy» (dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Rakhmetolla Raimkulov)

 

All of these events and competitions play a crucial role in preserving and promoting Kazakh culture, heritage, and national traditions among Kazakh compatriots living abroad while also contributing to the preservation of the native language. They provide a platform for the community to connect, celebrate their cultural heritage, and learn more about their roots.
