Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Kuantyrov has named several international companies planning to establish production facilities in Kazakhstan, reports a Kazinform correspondent.

“A significant number of companies are planning to relocate or have already begun operations. Some are not publicly disclosing their intentions yet, but we are actively working with them. For instance, Mars is currently engaged in a major project, as is Pepsi,” Kuantyrov stated at a briefing in the Senate.

He added that in addition to American corporations, global brands from the Persian Gulf, Turkey, and China are also planning to expand their presence in Kazakhstan.

“In the near future, pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca is expected to launch a production line in Kazakhstan. It will manufacture medications used in cancer treatment. During a recent visit to the United Kingdom, we toured their office in Cambridge. They are taking this initiative seriously, and the rollout of the new production line is anticipated soon. The same applies to Pfizer,” the Deputy Minister noted.

Furthermore, major companies are entering Kazakhstan’s subsoil use sector not only for resource extraction, but also to develop local processing capacities.

“This includes deep corn processing — for example, the Fugeng company, which plans to construct an industrial park for deep corn processing in the Zhambyl region — and the Dalian company. These are all global producers, and there is substantial interest in the Kazakh market. These developments mean job creation, new tax revenues, and the introduction of new expertise and technologies. While companies were previously reluctant to share technology, today we are creating conditions that encourage them to do so. Importantly, international brands now have cooperative strategies aimed at maximizing local production, sourcing goods and services from domestic suppliers, and involving the local population to the greatest extent possible,” Kuantyrov emphasized.

Earlier reports indicated that more than 23,000 companies with Russian participation are currently operating in Kazakhstan.
