A meeting of the Chamber was held under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbaev.

At a meeting of the Chamber, deputies reviewed and approved the Law “On the Ratification of the Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Documents on Academic Degrees in the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union.” In accordance with the Agreement, documents on the academic degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), doctor of specialization, candidate of sciences and doctor of sciences are recognized without carrying out national recognition procedures.

The exception is the case when holders of such documents apply for a bonus for an academic degree. The norms of the document are aimed at stimulating the exchange of scientific personnel and the integration of educational systems of the EAEU member countries, strengthening scientific ties between universities and research institutes within the EAEU.
