On 28–29 April 2025, during the 13th session of the Intergovernmental Commission between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the parties agreed to finalize and sign the Agreement on Transit Trade between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in 2025.
