On December 27, 2023, at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Nur-Sultan, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in collaboration with the Otandastar Qory and the public foundation "Elsana Amanat", the opening ceremony of the exhibition of Afghan Kazakh carpets titled "Ýaqyt qushaǵynda" took place. Today, January 20, marked the conclusion of the exhibition, which lasted for one month.

The main purpose of the exhibition was to organize a showcase of handmade Kazakh carpets in Afghanistan, contribute to the development of relations between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan, demonstrate national values, foster the movement of Kazakh carpet weavers, and promote Kazakh carpet and carpet weaving.

Approximately 5,000 guests visited the exhibition. Many of them were impressed by the "alash" carpets, a traditional style with distinctive qualities. These carpets, presented on the global market, stand out for their high quality and decorative finishes. Moreover, they showcase a high level of craftsmanship, with each carpet being crafted by 2-3 artisans over a period of 3-7 months.

In 2023, the exhibition featured 60 carpets from a new knitting collection. The company "Nasim Nayman Qazaq Karpet" founded by our compatriot, intends to further develop the art of carpet weaving in Kazakhstan. The entrepreneur is willing to train approximately 100 citizens in the art of carpet weaving with the support of the government.
