Otandastar Qory Representatives Meet with Active Youth in Bayan-Ulgii Province

On March 26, 2026, representatives from the NJSC Otandastar Qory held an official meeting with local Kazakh youth, school graduates, and parents at the Public Service Center of Bayan-Ulgii Province. The event was organized with the support of the regional Education Department.

The primary objective of the meeting was to explain state programs designed to support compatriots abroad and to provide detailed information regarding preferences and opportunities for admission to Kazakhstan’s higher education institutions.

During the session, Alzhan Sharifov, Press Secretary of "Otandastar Qory," provided a comprehensive overview of the Fund’s current initiatives and future strategic plans. Furthermore, Talgat Kenzhebekuly, Consultant for the Department of Work with Compatriots Abroad, delivered detailed information on the 4% educational quota allocated for ethnic Kazakhs (Kandastar), as well as available government grants and scholarships.

Asemgul Ibragimkyzy, Senior Specialist at the Bayan-Ulgii Education Department, raised several pressing questions frequently asked by parents and applicants. She emphasized the critical importance of such outreach initiatives for Kazakh schools located abroad. Additionally, Omirtay Bolatbek, an English teacher at a local school and an alumnus of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, shared his personal success story and positive experience studying in Kazakhstan.

During the open dialogue session, parents and graduates put forward several key recommendations to improve the current system:

– Visa Support: Streamlining and simplifying the student visa extension process for Kandastar students.

– “Jas Qazaq” Summer Camp: Allocating special quotas for talented children who have achieved significant success in sports, arts, and other fields.

– Digital Guidance: Producing step-by-step video tutorials on preparing for the Unified National Testing and the university application process.

– Proactive Engagement: Providing consistent online career guidance and professional support for ethnic Kazakh applicants abroad.

Representatives from Otandastar Qory assured participants that all raised issues and proposals would be formally documented and addressed in collaboration with the relevant state authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the conclusion of the event, participants were provided with essential information materials and brochures.
