On March 11, 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Astana hosted a working meeting focused on diaspora policy and prospects for bilateral cooperation. The discussion was attended by Alibek Zhurkadam, Vice President of "Otandastar Qory" NJSC, Kalybek Koblandin, Advisor to the President, and Janel Karzhaubay, Project Consultant.

Representing the South Korean diplomatic mission were Counsellor Shin Kyu-ho, Head of the Political Department Kim Il-jung, and Senior Researcher of the Political Department Shin Min-gyung. The parties exchanged experiences in implementing national policies for compatriots abroad and identified priorities for joint projects in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Participants emphasised the importance of strengthening ties between the diasporas of both nations and agreed to maintain an ongoing expert dialogue to develop effective mechanisms for supporting compatriots.
