A meeting of Kazakh and Uzbek experts took place in Astana as part of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to our country.

In addition, this meeting is being organized on the eve of the VI Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.

"The presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan signed an agreement on allied relations in December 2022. In the expert council, we must help the leadership of our countries determine the future of our allied relations. What will the relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan be like in 5, 10, 50 years? What will the citizens of both countries benefit from this? What are allied relations? How will relations between our countries affect the integration of the Central Asian region?" said Yerkin Tukymov, director of the Institute for Strategic Studies of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 

The head of the institute emphasized the possibility of developing cross-border cooperation by simplifying border control procedures. 

"Why shouldn't citizens of the two countries switch to simplified document flow. If in the future we launch high-speed train routes Tashkent-Shymkent, Tashkent-Taraz, Tashkent-Almaty, Tashkent-Astana. "The development of cross-border cooperation will bring results and activate other aspects," he says. 

In addition, the head of the KSZI proposed to conduct joint research with the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to consider issues of cooperation between the two countries.

Recall that on August 7-8, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit our country on a state visit.

On August 9, the sixth consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia will be held in Astana.
