On June 5, the Abylkhan Kasteyev State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan will open the exhibition “The Art of Ideas in China – Masterpieces from the National Museum of China.”

The exhibition features approximately 50 works of painting, graphic art, and sculpture created by renowned Chinese artists of the 20th and 21st centuries who continue the artistic tradition of xieyi. Through style, technique, and the use of distinctive materials, these masters strive not only to convey the external reality of an image but also to reveal its inner spiritual essence.

In 2018, the Abylkhan Kasteyev State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan became a member of the International Alliance of Museums and Galleries of the Silk Road. This initiative to unite professional art institutions was launched by the National Museum of China and aims to foster cultural and artistic exchange among participating countries.

The exhibition project “The Art of Ideas in China – Masterpieces from the National Museum of China” is part of a major cultural exchange program promoting national art. For the Kazakhstani audience, it presents a valuable opportunity to experience outstanding examples of Chinese art showcased by Beijing’s leading fine arts institution.
