As part of the strategic partnership between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea in the fields of science and higher education, a delegation from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) — one of the world’s leading institutions in scientific and technological research and education — has arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.
The delegation includes leading professors and senior academic representatives from KAIST, all of whom possess extensive international experience in the development and implementation of innovative research and educational programs. The visit takes place in the context of the establishment of QAIST University — the first research university in Central Asia, being developed based on the KAIST model.
During the visit, strategic sessions were held to shape the academic and scientific framework of QAIST University. Discussions focused on infrastructure solutions, and potential sites for the future campus were also examined.
The meeting emphasized that the mission of QAIST University is to train a new generation of scientists, engineers, and researchers capable of addressing global challenges through fundamental science, cutting-edge technologies, and international collaboration. QAIST is envisioned as a key hub for researchers, students, and technological initiatives, aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan’s scientific capacity and advancing its integration into the global educational and research landscape.
