Kazakhstan and Oman deepen economic relations

Astana, May 29, 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu held a meeting with the Minister of Finance of the Sultanate of Oman, Sultan Al-Habsi, who arrived to Kazakhstan on a working visit and to attend the Astana International Forum.

The parties discussed prospects for further expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, logistics, and other strategically important areas.

Minister Nurtleu emphasized that Kazakhstan, as Oman’s key economic partner in Central Asia, attaches great importance to the comprehensive development of trade, economic, and investment ties with the Sultanate.

The Kazakh side expressed full support for Oman’s initiative to establish a direct investment fund for Kazakhstan and neighboring countries. The total volume of Omani investments in the Kazakh economy has exceeded 253 million US dollars.

Special attention was given to enhancing the two countries’ logistics partnership and regional connectivity, taking into account the potential of existing transport corridors and the goals of the “Oman Vision 2040” program.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the ministers reaffirmed their commitment to continuing a substantive dialogue aimed at promoting mutually beneficial projects.
