27 May 2025

Astana, May 27, 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, held a meeting with Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Finland and Head of the Finland-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ville Skinnari.

The parties discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, including the maintenance of high- and top-level contacts, the promotion of interparliamentary diplomacy, and the strengthening of trade and investment partnerships.

In this context, the important role of the Kazakh-Finnish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was highlighted. The Commission serves as one of the most effective institutional platforms for dialogue and engagement between the official and business communities of Kazakhstan and Finland.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues, taking into account Finland’s chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) this year. This chairmanship coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act and the 15th anniversary of the Astana Declaration adopted at the 2010 OSCE Summit.
