According to the press service of Akorda, as reported by Kazinform, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States.

At the beginning of his address, President Tokayev expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán for hosting the summit at a high organizational level.

“Today’s meeting holds particular significance, as it is taking place in the very heart of Europe. This is a vivid testament to our enduring friendship. We are steadily strengthening the unity of our nations, preserving our shared historical roots, traditions, and cultural values,” the President noted.

According to the Head of State, the forum—held under the motto “A Meeting Point Between East and West”—aligns with the interests and strategic goals of the Turkic world. President Tokayev emphasized that, in the current complex geopolitical environment, cooperation within the framework of the Organization is acquiring exceptional relevance.

He went on to outline the steps Kazakhstan has taken to enhance its ties with fellow member states.

“In particular, a permanent representative of Kazakhstan to the Organization of Turkic States has been appointed, and we plan to open a Permanent Mission in the near future. On June 11–12, the 14th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States will take place in Astana. The city of Aktau has been declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world for this year, and as part of this honorary mission, concrete events are being implemented. At Kazakhstan’s initiative, a Consultative Platform of Electoral Bodies was established last week, with its inaugural meeting successfully held in the ancient city of Turkistan. Moreover, by mutual agreement, starting in June this year, Almaty will become the youth capital of the Organization. In this way, we are actively working to strengthen Turkic unity,” stated the President of Kazakhstan.

Earlier it was reported that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had arrived at the Várkert Bazár pavilion in Budapest to participate in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States.
