19 May 2025

In 2025, Kazakhstan continues the implementation of large-scale projects in the field of sports infrastructure as part of the instructions given by the Head of State.

In Petropavlovsk, the second phase of the reconstruction of the Karasai Stadium has been completed. The first phase included the modernization of lighting, the football field, the scoreboard, and the sound system. The second phase involved a major overhaul of the stands, locker rooms, and sanitary facilities, as well as the construction of a new building.

In Kyzylorda, a 10,000-seat stadium is currently under construction, with completion scheduled for July 2025.

In Astana, construction has commenced on the new K. Munaitpasov Stadium, with commissioning planned for the first quarter of 2026.

Also in Astana, construction of the National University of Sports is ongoing. The project consists of two phases, with full completion planned by the end of the current year. The university will offer a full educational cycle—from college to doctoral studies.

In Turkestan, work continues on the construction of a rowing canal:

  • the first phase has been fully completed;

  • the second phase is 95% complete;

  • the third phase is 30% complete.
    The overall completion of the project is scheduled for December 2025.

It is worth noting that in 2024, 90 sports facilities were built across the country, including 61 in rural areas and 29 in cities and district centers.
