Alikhan Bokeikhan University hosted the "Assyl AI 2025" hackathon, which served as the culminating event of a large-scale educational initiative implemented in collaboration with the Assyltas Public Foundation. The event brought together students from universities and colleges across the Abai Region who had completed a preliminary two-month training program in artificial intelligence tools.
The hackathon was organized at the Abai IT Valley technology cluster, operating under the auspices of the university. The cluster is rapidly developing as the region’s leading IT hub, integrating educational programs with projects focused on the development and implementation of practical IT solutions.
Over the course of two days, participants, grouped into teams, worked on creating AI-based products and presented their projects to a panel of expert judges. Based on the competition results, winners and runners-up were selected and awarded certificates and incentive prizes:
✔ The winning team, ALGA, earned an opportunity to undertake an internship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.
✔ In the “Best Scalable Project” category, Team ONEMED was awarded a cash prize of 500,000 KZT.
✔ Team SHE WOLVES received recognition in the “Boldest and Most Creative Project” category, along with a cash award of 300,000 KZT.
