Google has officially expanded language support for its Google Classroom platform by adding the Kazakh language in April. This milestone is the result of the ongoing efforts of the Altynsarin Academy under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Google Classroom is one of the most widely used educational platforms in the world, serving over 170 million users. The addition of Kazakh opens new digital opportunities for schools that teach in the Kazakh language, marking a significant step toward digital equity for students and educators in Kazakhstan.
To switch to Kazakh, users simply need to change their Google account language settings — the interface will automatically adapt in both the web version and the mobile app.
It is worth noting that in January, the Altynsarin Academy signed a memorandum of cooperation with Google and Microsoft. Earlier, Minister of Education Gani Beisembayev held negotiations with representatives of the world’s leading IT companies. The launch of the Kazakh version of Google Classroom represents the first step toward building a modern digital ecosystem in education.
