Major International Equestrian Competitions to Be Held in Astana

14 May 2025

From May 30 to June 1, the Argymak Equestrian and Wellness Complex in Astana will host international equestrian competitions, including a stage of the Eurasian League World Cup in show jumping (FEI CSI 1*-W) and an international dressage tournament (FEI CDI 1*).

Top national teams from six countries across the region and beyond are expected to take part. The event will be conducted in accordance with international standards under the auspices of the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI).

More than 60 elite athletes are scheduled to compete over three days, showcasing their skills in show jumping and various levels of dressage.

Show jumping is an equestrian sport where a rider and horse navigate a course with obstacles of varying heights and shapes. The objective is to complete the course with no faults and in the shortest possible time.

Dressage, often referred to as the highest form of equestrian art, demonstrates the harmony between horse and rider through a series of precise and graceful movements. Performances are judged on elegance, accuracy, and execution.

Hosting a World Cup stage in Astana highlights the growing popularity of equestrian sports in Kazakhstan and provides a valuable opportunity for local athletes to compete at an international level. This prestigious event is significant not only for the country but also for the global equestrian community. Competitions of this caliber enable Kazakhstani athletes to improve their skills and vie for qualification to international tournaments.
