✅ Kazakhstan is witnessing a steady rise in interest in ecotourism. While in 2022 the number of ecotourists stood at 2 million, by 2024 this figure had reached 2.8 million—an increase of 40%. In 2023, the number of ecotourists was 2.4 million.
⭐ The most popular destinations among travelers are national parks located near Almaty, including Ile-Alatau, Charyn, Altyn-Emel, and the Kolsai Lakes.
✅ Infrastructure development in line with sustainable tourism principles is actively underway in 14 national parks across the country. New visitor centers, campgrounds, glamping sites, and other facilities are being constructed to ensure a comfortable experience for tourists.
🔵 In recent years, eight modern visitor centers have been built. These centers are equipped with information systems, route navigation, and essential tourism infrastructure. They provide visitors with information about local ecosystems, wildlife habitats, recommended trails, and the rules for visiting protected natural areas.
✅ The development of ecotourism contributes to the preservation of natural heritage, expands the country’s tourism potential, and supports the sustainable development of its regions.
