Baku, April 28, 2025 – A ceremonial opening of Kazakhstan’s Trade Pavilion was held at the Turkic Trade Center in Baku, organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Azerbaijan.
The event was attended by Alim Baiyel, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan; the Ambassadors of Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan; Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of Azerbaijan (KOBIA); Dauren Bimov, Co-Chairman of the Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Business Council; Yilmaz Okuklu, Director of the Turkic Trade Center; members of Parliament, and representatives of the media.
In his address, Ambassador Baiyel stated: “Today, we are witnessing the growing role of our region amid global geopolitical and geoeconomic transformations. The Turkic world can and should become a significant player on the international stage. Naturally, any union or integration must be built on a strong economic foundation. From this perspective, such initiatives are particularly encouraging, especially given that they are developing from the ground up — largely based on the proposals of our entrepreneurs and with the support of the relevant institutions.”
The Turkic Trade Center provides a permanent platform for entrepreneurs from the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member countries to showcase their products, establish business contacts, and access international markets. The pavilions were created as cultural and commercial spaces presenting national products, handicrafts, and cuisine from OTS countries, with particular attention paid to traditional design and atmosphere that reflect each nation’s unique culture.
Orkhan Mammadov emphasized the importance of these trade platforms in fostering economic cooperation and facilitating the exchange of goods and services among Turkic countries. Entrepreneur Dauren Bimov highlighted the opportunities offered by the initiative, noting that many of the obstacles entrepreneurs typically face would now be addressed through the trade pavilions.
As part of the event, visitors were introduced to yurts decorated in traditional styles, featuring samples of Turkic national cuisine.
Additionally, the concert program included performances by Kazakh students featuring works by Nurgisa Tlendiyev, alongside a special presentation dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the prominent composer.
