16 January 2025

Today, 16 January, in Almaty with the participation of the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balaeva, a solemn ceremony of awarding state scholarships to literary and artistic figures living in Almaty was held.

In accordance with the order of the Head of State in 2024, 75 people became their owners.

Aida Balayeva congratulated Almaty scholarship holders and noted their significant contribution to the development of Kazakh culture. The creative intelligentsia, the minister emphasised, plays a key role in preserving cultural identity, strengthening unity and promoting national values.

‘President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev pays special attention to strengthening the national spirit, emphasising its huge role and potential in building modern statehood. His annual messages to the nation, initiatives at the National Kurultai, and interviews are saturated with key values such as independence and patriotism, unity and harmony, justice and responsibility, law and order, creation and innovation. Strengthening inter-ethnic harmony and inculcating worthy values in the younger generation is our common task,’ the minister said.

Aida Balayeva noted that all the initiatives of the President are primarily aimed at forming national unity, strengthening the state and improving the welfare of citizens.

‘In raising the status of statehood, you, masters of culture, have a great responsibility. And we do not doubt that cultural workers have been and remain a reliable support for the Head of State, a conductor of his ideas. The state, in turn, will continue its systematic support of artists,’ the Minister concluded.

The scholarship holders include such outstanding cultural figures as Asanali Ashimov, Bibigul Tulegenova, Olzhas Suleimenov, Iranbek Orazbayev, Nūrğali Nüsıpjan, Tungishbai Jamankulov, Meruert Utekeshova, Amandos Akanaev, Dulat Isabekov, Tölen Äbdıkūly, Tatiana Tarskaya, Gulver Razieva and many others.
