Kazakh wrestlers are leading in the world rankings

The master of freestyle wrestling, Rizabek Aitmukhan, leads the world rankings, as reported by Kazinform.

The world rankings, compiled by the United World Wrestling Association, have been updated following the World Championship and the XIX Summer Asian Games. In freestyle wrestling, Rizabek Aitmukhan claimed the first place in the 92 kg weight category, becoming the first-ever world champion in freestyle wrestling in the history of independent Kazakhstan.

On his way to victory, he secured four wins, starting with a victory over Hungarian Balazs Juhasz with a score of 13:3, and then defeating Turk Feizulla Aktyurk with a score of 11:0. In the semifinals, he outperformed Georgian Miriani Maysuradze and reached the final, where he lost to Azerbaijani Osman Nurmagomedov.

In women's wrestling, Jamila Bakbergenova (72 kg) also stands out in the updated rankings, having won a bronze medal at the World Championship and being a silver medalist in the 2021 and 2022 World Championships. Photo: Sourced from an open source.
