On behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and on his own behalf, the Head of State congratulated Sadyr Zhaparov on the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Agreement on Allied Relations between the two countries.

- The 2003 Agreement marked the beginning of a new stage in the development of Kazakh-Kyrgyz relations and laid a solid legal framework for the effective promotion of our multifaceted interstate ties. Active political dialogue at all levels, dynamic development of cooperation in trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as close cooperation of the two countries in the international arena serve as evidence of this," the telegram says.

Kasym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that joint efforts will ensure further strengthening of strategic partnership and alliance, as well as realise the huge potential of bilateral cooperation for the benefit of the people of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
