BRIGHT VICTORIES OF KAZAKHSTANI ATHLETES LAST WEEK

Amateur boxing: Domestic boxers took part in the Abbas Agalarov Memorial International Tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan, and won 16 medals. The competition was attended by 97 athletes from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the European Boxing Confederation. According to the results of the competition, the national team of Kazakhstan took second place in the team standings. In the piggy bank of our boxers 16 medals, 4 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze.


Archery: In Batumi, Georgia, the international archery tournament ended. Kazakhstan's Samira Zhumagulova, Ayazhan Yakhina and Alikhan Tuyak took first place. Raimbek Maikybayev distinguished himself in singles, and Samira Zhumagulova among girls. Among cadets Alikhan Tuyak won a gold medal, Ayazhan Yakhina - silver. Raiymbek Mikeybaev and Abdumalik Ganiev won the team competition, in the mixed team competition the pair Alikhan Tuyak and Ayazhan Yakhina won the main prize.

Ice Hockey: Barys of Moscow, playing in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), defeated Russian team Traktor Chelyabinsk on their home field. Arkady Shestakov (double), David Sklenicka, Rudolph Cerveny, Anthony Kamara, and Arkady Shestakov (double) scored. Traktor's Nikita Soshnikov showed marksmanship once. Thus, the capital club won its third consecutive victory, defeating its opponent 5-1.

Wrestling: Kazakhstani wrestlers at the end of the year started the year in the world rankings in their weight categories. Kazakhstan's first world champion in freestyle wrestling, Rizabek Aitmukhan, leads in the 92kg weight class. Georgia is in second place, with an Azerbaijani wrestler in third.

Also Zhamilya Bakbergenova takes the first place in the ranking of 72 kg weight category (United World Wrestling - UWW). Our compatriot won the Asian Championship for the third time, and in September she became a bronze medallist at the World Championship in Serbia.
