According to the National Bureau of Statistics, 834.9 thousand foreign tourists visited the country between January and September 2023. This is 225 thousand people more than in 2022. The growth compared to the same period in 2022 increased by 37 per cent. In 2022, 609.8 thousand foreigners visited the country.

According to statistical data, the geography of foreign tourists travelling to our country increases every year. For example, in addition to the nearest neighbours, travellers from non-CIS countries have started to come to Kazakhstan. In this regard, we offer you a selection of the top 5 countries by the number of tourists who visited our country in the period from January to September 2023.

For the first 9 months of 2023, the most travellers visited our country from the Russian Federation. From January to September last year, 356,850 thousand Russians visited Kazakhstan.

The second place was taken by Chinese tourists. From the neighbour in the East, 75,131 people came to our country. And the third place was occupied by tourists from Turkey - 41,134 tourists. The top five also included travellers from India (34,757) and the USA (28,160).

"We see that every year the interest of foreign tourists in Kazakhstan is growing. Thus, in 2022, more than 900 thousand foreigners arrived in the country, and for 9 months of last year more than 800 thousand foreign guests. We hope that this year this figure will be even higher. After all, there are many beautiful places in the country that surprise foreigners and attract attention with their natural beauty. In addition, the Ministry is working to make an unforgettable impression on every traveller visiting our vast country," said Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerzhan Erkinbayev.
