Vice Minister of Agriculture Ermek Kenzhekhanuly met with the General Director of the French company Lidea Paul Olivier, Commercial Director for Russia and CIS countries Dupont Yang.

The parties discussed issues of expanding cooperation.

The Vice-Minister said that the RK is currently working on joining the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants and informed the members of the French delegation about the measures of state support aimed at stimulating seed production.

Among the measures - cheaper cost of seeds, mineral fertilisers (except organic), pesticides, bioagents (entomophages), water supply services, etc.

In turn, Paul Olivier talked about the company's activities and expressed interest in cooperation in the implementation of scientific programmes on breeding and exchange of genetic material, the application of modern and advanced technologies for the production and processing of seeds.

The issue of localisation of seed production in Kazakhstan was also considered.
