Foreign patients undergo neurosurgical operations in Shymkent

Shymkent is becoming one of the leading centers for medical tourism, offering high-tech specialized care to patients from around the world.

In 2024, more than 100 foreign nationals came to the city for treatment.  
City Hospital No. 2 successfully performed complex neurosurgical operations on patients from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Switzerland, and Russia. All procedures, categorized as particularly complex, were carried out thanks to the professionalism and expertise of the medical team.

City Hospital No. 1 treated about 500 patients from various regions of Kazakhstan and abroad, including citizens of China, Uzbekistan, and Russia. The hospital conducted serious surgeries and comprehensive diagnostic and treatment procedures.

Shymkent’s Diagnostic Center is actively developing medical tourism at the outpatient-clinical level. In 2024, the center provided high-tech diagnostic services to over 50 foreign patients from Central Asia, Europe, Russia, and the United States. The center is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including MRI, CT scanners, video endoscopes, and premium-class ultrasound devices. Thanks to the implementation of international ISO standards, the number of patients increases by 10–15% annually.

Shymkent Heart Center is also actively engaged in international cooperation. In 2024, the center performed high-tech surgeries for patients from the USA, Russia, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.

Shymkent continues to strengthen its reputation as a hub for advanced medical care, attracting an increasing number of foreign patients.
