Boris Asafiev's famous choreographic work will be presented on the stage of the Bolshoi Hall on 14-15 February.
"The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" is one of the best examples of dramatic ballet, which was created by choreographer Rostislav Zakharov in 1934 based on the poem of the same name by A. Pushkin. The original version of the production was handed over to the new generation of Astana Opera artists by the world ballet star Altynai Asylmuratova.
Along with the masters of the stage, the performance will be attended by young artists, for whom it will be their debut.
Zarema will be portrayed by Anel Rustemova, Honoured Artist of Kazakhstan, and Anastasia Zaklinskaya, a soloist of the theatre, and Maria will be portrayed by Madina Unerbayeva, Honoured Artist of Kazakhstan, and Adelina Tulepova. Aidan Kalzhan, a young dancer with the ballet company, is preparing for his debut as Khan Girey. He noted that he has performed in such leading roles as Nutcracker Prince, Sultan Beibarys, Torero. And now one more famous role will join their ranks.
