Professors of the Malaysian branch of Heriot-Watt University Yap Yuenkiat and Lee Wen Nam give lectures to students of the university branch located on the basis of Zhubanov University.

Today they give lectures on the subjects of physics and chemistry, and also share their scientific experience. In addition to the academic component, professors are active scientists. Physics Professor Yap Yuenkiat conducts research in the fields of medical and radiation physics, laser and photonics, optics, laser and plasma physics.

“I am glad to meet the students and teaching staff of the Heriot-Watt branch in Aktobe. The high quality of work produced within the partnership can be seen in the level of knowledge of the students. I believe that in the future we will together improve our knowledge of physics and implement joint scientific projects,” says Professor Yap Yuenkiat.

Professor Lee Wen Nam teaches chemistry at the Malaysian campus of Heriot-Watt University, while conducting research in the field of analytical chemistry. The scientist noted the special desire for knowledge and self-improvement of students at the Heriot-Watt branch.

It is worth noting that the British Heriot-Watt University has branches in Edinburgh, Dubai, Malaysia and Aktobe. Professors visiting different campuses to teach and work on research projects is a common experience. Thus, in the autumn semester, the Aktobe branch was repeatedly visited by professors from the Edinburgh and Malaysian campuses.
