The Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan made reports in the Mazhilis of Parliament on the issues of consolidating agreements with foreign countries on international combined transport of goods and cooperation in the field of aviation search and rescue.

Marat Karabaev presented to the deputies a draft law on the ratification of the Agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Turkey on international combined transport of goods, aimed at increasing transportation volumes by simplifying related procedures.

“We are working to reduce the delivery time of goods from China to Europe through TMTM, which involves rail, road and water transport. Already today, the transit time for cargo and delivery of goods in transit from China to Europe is 19-23 days, of which 6 days are through the territory of Kazakhstan. This is 2 times faster than last year. The agreement will affect the development of the international route,” said the head of the Ministry of Transport.

M. Karabaev clarified that in order to resolve all issues of implementation of the agreement, a joint committee for the development of transportation will be created.

The minister also presented a draft document on the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on cooperation in the field of aviation search and rescue.

The main objectives of the agreement are to strengthen cooperation between the search and rescue services of the two states, mutually take measures to search for crashed aircraft, passengers and crews, exchange information and experience, as well as conduct joint exercises of search and rescue services.

“The agreement defines the regulatory framework for joint search and rescue operations, the boundaries of search and rescue areas, and also provides for the right to provide mutual assistance during search operations,” said the head of the department.

According to his information, to date, at 27 airfields and landing sites for aviation accidents on the basis of Kazaeronavigatsiya, helicopter duty has been organized throughout the entire area of responsibility of Kazakhstan, where specialists trained to international standards are on duty around the clock. In addition, a search and rescue coordination center has been created, which works together with parachute groups of the Ministry of Defense and search and rescue teams of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. After the report, Transport Minister Marat Karabaev answered questions from deputies of the Mazhilis of Parliament, as well as media representatives.
