Baikonur begins a program of manned launches on the day of Nauryz

At the Baikonur Cosmodrome, preparations are underway for the first manned launch in 2024. The Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft with an international crew on board is preparing for launch, a Kazinform agency correspondent reports.


Exactly one month before the launch, on February 21, 2024, a meeting of the main medical commission was held in Star City, which announced the results of medical examinations of the main and backup crews of the 21st visiting expedition to the International Space Station during the period of their pre-flight preparation.

-Based on the results of the meeting, a conclusion was made on the suitability for space flight of Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Ivan Vagner, space flight participants from the Republic of Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya and Anastasia Lenkova,- says a statement from the Cosmonaut Training Center named after Yu. The launch of the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft by the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle from the Baikonur Cosmodrome is planned on March 21. The main crew of the 21st ISS visiting expedition includes Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, space flight participant from the Republic of Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson, the backup crew includes Roscosmos cosmonaut Ivan Vagner, space flight participant from the Republic of Belarus Anastasia Lenkova and NASA astronaut Donald Pettit .
