Full-scale modernization of 9 automobile checkpoints continues at customs posts located on the external border of the EAEU with China, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Given the imminent temporary closure by the Uzbek side of the border crossing point “Gisht-Kuprik” (adjacent border crossing point “Zhibek Zholy” (RK) for completion of construction works on modernization, by agreement of the parties, the border crossing points “Kaplanbek” (RK) and “Navoi” (RUz) are being opened for crossing on foot by individuals, passenger cars and buses.
The Kazakh and Uzbek side in the checkpoints “Kaplanbek” and “Navoi” carried out simultaneous modernization and technical re-equipment and today the technical opening of these checkpoints was held.
In connection with the commissioning works the passage of individuals, cars and buses will be limited from January 27 to February 5. Since February 5, the checkpoint will work at full capacity.
Subsequently, after the agreement of the parties, the second stage will be the passage of cargo vehicles at these checkpoints.
The Kaplanbek checkpoint is built according to the advanced international standards, equipped with modern technological equipment used in the implementation of state control. All conditions for comfortable border crossing by individuals have been created.
The whole cycle of transport movement has been automated. It is expected to increase the throughput capacity of individuals up to 20 thousand, vehicles by up to 800 ATC per day.
The date of a temporary closure of the border crossing point “Zhibek Zholy” will be announced additionally.
