Issues of science and higher education development in Kazakhstan and Russia were discussed

The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek held a meeting with the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for international cultural cooperation Mikhail Shvydkоу.


During the meeting, current issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation in the areas of science and higher education of the two friendly countries were discussed.

The head of the department dwelt in detail on the latest achievements of domestic science, branches of foreign universities, modernization of higher education and programs for scientists.

In addition, the parties came to an agreement to improve the conditions for students of neighboring countries to receive high-quality and affordable education.

Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation Mikhail Shvydkoy expressed gratitude for the reception and spoke about the transformation carried out by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

At the end of the meeting, Sayasat Nurbek emphasized that Kazakhstan and Russia have established many years of fruitful cooperation in the field of science and higher education.

In addition, as part of the partnership, branches of leading universities of the Russian Federation were opened in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Now active work is carried out by branches of the National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI" on the basis of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (NRU) named after I.M. Gubkin on the basis of Utebayev University, as well as a representative office of the Russian Chemical-Technological University named after. D.I. Mendeleev on the basis of Taraz Regional University named after M. Dulati. Already in the fall of this year, a branch of the Russian Chemical Technical University named after. D. I. Mendeleev.
