FOUR TEAMS WILL GO TO HOUSTON TO REPRESENT KAZAKHSTAN AT THE WORLD ROBOTICS CHAMPIONSHIP

The largest robotics championship in Central Asia has ended in Astana. More than 3,000 schoolchildren from 5 countries took part in it. 200 teams that received quotas during the qualifying championships in Kazakhstan and beyond competed for the title of the best.


The championship was held in three age categories as part of the global FIRST program: FLL Explore (6-10 years old), FLL Challenge (10-16 years old) and FIRST Tech Challenge (12-18 years old). In addition to the robot game, the championship includes a competition for innovative projects and judging sessions.

Based on the results, in the FLL Explore age category (6-10 years old), the team from the capital’s Quantum STEM School “IQRobots” won a trip to Houston, America. First place – the “Very Skillful Capybaras” team from the LEAS school in Almaty, second place – the “Billion team” from the Robopark school in Ekibastuz, third – the “Renaissance” team from the Saturn school in Pavlodar.

In the age category from 10 to 16 years old FLL Challenge, a trip to Houston was won by the “Shym Side” team from the city of Shymkent. I place – team “Stay Hydrated” BIL Astana, II – team “Toro doro” 125 High School Uralsk, III – team “Ro alemi” BIL Semey.

In the category from 12 to 18 years old FIRST Tech Challenge, two teams won trips to Houston: “Bolt.m3” RFMS, “Yaku” NIS FMS from Almaty.

The following teams won trips to London: “Zhamakaev” NIS FMS Almaty, “124” school No. 124 Almaty, “Queue” BIL Almaty.

Additionally, individual invitations to Houston, according to the global rating of outstanding schoolchildren “Dean’s list”, were received by: Aisha Almat from the “Quant” team in Astana and Tomiris Ongarbek from the “124” team in Almaty. Also, based on the results of face-to-face interviews, 28 grants were allocated for studying at Kazakh and foreign universities.
