Two authors of short films about Kazakhstan on TikTok will take part in the Cannes Film Festival
TikTok, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, invites residents of Kazakhstan to take part in the competition for the best short films about the country, as well as in the global project #TikTokShortFilm.
TikTok is hosting #TikTokShortFilm for the third year in a row. The competition provides a unique opportunity for authors from 55 countries to share their work with more than a billion people around the world.
From February 21 to March 15, 2024, participants must post an original vertical video that is over a minute long and meets the competition criteria.
The winners in three categories: “Grand Prize”, “Best Screenplay”, “Best Director” will be determined by an authoritative jury. They will be invited to the #TikTokShortFilm awards ceremony, which will be held at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in France.
The winner in the “Main Prize” nomination will receive a prize of 10,000 euros, the authors of the best works in the other two categories will receive 5,000 euros each for the implementation of their future creative works.
Creators from Kazakhstan can also take part in the local short video competition, which will take place on the same dates.
Works will be accepted in two categories - “Best short film in Kazakhstan” and “Best short film in the Kazakh language.” The winners of the competition will participate in the Cannes Film Festival.
It should be noted that over the past year, more than 2 million videos have been created under the hashtag #TikTokShortFilm.
