President of Tianjin Vocational Institute, Professor, PhD Zheng Qinchong gave a lecture for students studying educational programs “Transport, transport equipment and technology” and “Organization of transportation, traffic and operation of transport” and also for the teaching staff of VKTU named after. D. Serikbaev on the basis of the branch of the Lu Ban Workshop.

In his speech, Mr. Zheng Qinchong touched on the topic of innovative mechanical engineering technologies and shared his scientific, administrative and organizational experience.

In the “Lu Ban Workshop”, operating on the basis of VKTU, students study modern automotive and electric vehicle technologies using advanced Chinese equipment and using the Engineering Practice Innovation Project (EPIP) teaching method.

President of TVI University Zheng Qinchong noted that thanks to cooperation with VKTU and the functioning of the Workshop, highly qualified international-class specialists, a new generation of engineers, will be trained.

Before the start of this project, 15 VKTU teachers were trained at the Tianjin Vocational Institute in China, which has a positive effect on adapting the educational process and ensuring students better assimilate the program.Also, thanks to the opening of the “Lu Ban Workshop”, the educational programs of VKTU “Transport, transport equipment and technology” and “Organization of transportation, traffic and operation of transport” were updated in terms of the study of hybrid cars and electric vehicles and the use of artificial intelligence technologies in ensuring traffic safety.

“This is an important project that will benefit both sides and is part of the Belt and Road Initiative.” Thanks to the project, students develop those technical skills that modern society urgently needs, that is, the study of the latest vehicle transport systems and their maintenance. Also, in the future, students of educational programs will be able to undertake internships in leading companies in China, and possibly receive job offers,” said TVI University President Zheng Qinchong.

The use of intelligent systems in the automotive industry is driven by new generations of technology and the industrial revolution. In the lecture, Zheng Qinchong placed a special emphasis on a detailed analysis of the development strategies of the automotive industry in different countries, the operation of SMART cars and the infrastructure necessary for their operation.

Students are trained across multiple learning platforms to provide hands-on training in the maintenance, repair and diagnostics of fuel-powered, electric, hybrid and self-driving vehicles, as well as automotive intelligent systems such as intelligent ADAS.

It is worth noting that the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recently visited the Lu Ban Workshop and got acquainted with its activities. The head of state emphasized that for economic development it is important to increase the number of such centers in the country.
