05 March, 2024

The official presentation of the certificate of institutional accreditation by QAA Maqsut Narikbayev University took place. This accreditation confirms that the university meets British and international standards for the quality of higher education.

Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) is a British accreditation agency for quality assurance in higher education. The universities that have previously been externally assessed by QAA experts include some of the best universities in the United Kingdom. QAA experts are generally recognized international analysts in the field of higher education, regularly publishing national and regional reports. Compliance with the standards of this agency is a significant achievement for the university and confirmation of the high level of academic culture.

For Maqsut Narikbayev University graduates, this means that their diplomas will now be recognized in the UK on an equal basis with diplomas from top British universities. When undergoing QAA institutional accreditation, special attention is paid to the effectiveness of the university management model, commitment to the principles of academic integrity, student focus, as well as the effectiveness of mechanisms to ensure the quality of educational programs.

“Having been the first in the CIS to receive British QAA accreditation, Maqsut Narikbayev University was able to prove by its own example that in Kazakhstan there are universities that meet the international level and high quality standards of higher education. Other universities in our country should also strive for the same level of quality that Maqsut Narikbayev University has achieved.I want to note that this university never stops at current achievements and operates on the principle “there is no limit to perfection,” said Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek.

This accreditation will be valid for 5 years subject to a satisfactory result of post-accreditation control (mid-cycle review). The university is officially authorized to use a special personalized QAA accreditation mark, publish it on official accounts and place it on graduate diplomas.

“Our university proudly follows its main mission - serving the people of Kazakhstan through providing quality education. The university’s regular achievements at the international level testify to our commitment to high standards and each time take us one step closer to the level of the best universities in the world,” said Talgat Narikbaev, Chairman of the Board of MNU.

Chris Bland, Head of Accreditation and Consultancy at QAA, said: “QAA is pleased to congratulate Maqsut Narikbayev University on completing its accreditation process. We have had great pleasure working with our colleagues in Kazakhstan and look forward to further cooperation with them.”
