From July 7 to 14, the most prestigious international biology Olympiad among schoolchildren, IBO-2024, will be held in Astana. 330 young biologists from 80 countries will compete for the title of the strongest. 

The IBO-2024 Scientific Committee developed tasks for two rounds - theoretical and practical. They include questions from the main branches of science. These are cellular and molecular biology, anatomy and physiology of animals and humans, genetics and evolution, ecology, etc.

“Astana will host the 35th world-class competition in 2024. This decision was made by the international organizing committee, and this serves as proof of Kazakhstan’s successful entry into the global educational space,” said Gazdembek Tursunov, director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Daryn”.

It should be noted that the International Biology Olympiad is an excellent opportunity for schoolchildren to reveal their intellectual potential and show their knowledge on the world stage.

Programs are also planned for participants and managers; they will take part in seminars and conferences for professional exchange and discussion of Olympiad issues. The Olympiad itself will be organized on the basis of NU.
