Nauryznama - a new format for celebrating Nauryz Meiramy in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstanis will be able to celebrate Nauryz annually for ten days - from March 14 to 23. The decade was called “Nauryznama”.


Today, at a briefing at the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a new format for celebrating one of the main holidays was presented, in which national traditions and customs are rooted, symbolizing the onset of spring and the beginning of the new year.


As Sabit Barlybaev, deputy chairman of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said, the ten-day “Nauryznam” will embody a variety of cultural and traditional events designed to bring a new spirit and meaning to the celebration of Nauryz.


Each day of the period is dedicated to a specific theme and value, reflecting the richness and diversity of Kazakhstan's culture and society. From charity and cultural events to national traditions and environmental actions, the decade of Nauryznam is designed to cover all spheres of society.


March 14 - Korisu kuni - Amal merekesi


March 15 – “Kayyrymdylyk kuni”


March 16 – “Madeniet zhane ulttyk salt-dastur kuni”


March 17 – “Shanyrak kuni”


March 18 – Ulttyk kiіm kunі


March 19 – Zhanaru kuni


March 20 – Ulttyk sport kuni


March 21 - Yntymak kuni


March 22 - Zhyl Basy


March 23 – Tazaru kuni


Particular attention will be paid to folk festivals and cultural and sports events, which will be held in all regions of the country. Also, as part of this holiday, stylized ethno-auls will traditionally be established, fairs, concerts, sports competitions and much more will be organized.


But the celebration of Nauryz is not limited to just a decade.More than 10 thousand events of various formats are planned throughout the country, including exhibitions, festivals, literary and musical evenings and film screenings.


The main holiday this year will be “Uly Istin – Uly Tany”, which will be held on the territory of the EXPO in Astana on March 21. This holiday will be the embodiment of centuries-old Kazakh tradition and culture, combining the diversity of national heritage and the unity of the people.
