In the Park named after 28 Panfilov Guardsmen, a ceremonial farewell ceremony took place for the peacekeeping contingent of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the mission “UN Force to Observe Disengagement in the Golan Heights.”
The leadership of the Ministry of Defense, members of Parliament, colleagues, relatives of military personnel, representatives of executive authorities, veterans' organizations, the public and the children's and youth military-patriotic movement "Zhas Sarbaz" gathered on the square.
Minister of Defense Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov noted that the expansion of geography and diversification of the participation of Kazakh peacekeepers in UN missions is carried out at the direction of the President.
“This is a great honor for us; in a short period of time, we have trained and equipped a peacekeeping contingent that meets all international standards and requirements, ready to carry out tasks in the special conditions of the military-political situation,” he emphasized.
The head of the defense department also noted that this is an indicator of recognition by the UN and the international community of the maturity of the state and the ability of our Armed Forces to carry out the most important tasks to preserve peace and security.
“At the same time, this is also a huge responsibility before the country and the world community. Therefore, we must show a high level of training, discipline and hold high the authority of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its Armed Forces in the international arena,” he concluded.
Deputies of the Mazhilis of Parliament Konstantin Avershin and Bolat Kerimbek addressed the peacekeepers with parting words and wished them successful service.
Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov presented the commander of the contingent, Lieutenant Colonel Zhiger Aipov, with the State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with which the military personnel marched solemnly across the square. Upon the arrival of the military personnel at the site, the symbol of our state will be erected on the territory of the Kazakh peacekeeping base on the Golan Heights.
As Lieutenant Colonel Zhiger Aipov noted, the personnel of the peacekeeping contingent have undergone comprehensive peacekeeping training and are ready to carry out assigned tasks within the mandate of the UN mission.
