The Head of State signed a Decree "On Granting the Status of 'National' to the Republican State Treasury Enterprises 'State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Abylkhan Kasteyev' and 'Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan' of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan."

This decision became a landmark event for the entire cultural sphere of the country and received widespread positive feedback from representatives of the arts, science, and museum communities.

The Director of the State Museum of Arts named after Abylkhan Kasteyev, Gulayim Zhumabekova, expressed deep gratitude to the Head of State, noting that the granting of "National" status is particularly symbolic in the year of the museum's 90th anniversary:

"On behalf of all art lovers, cultural figures who have contributed to the development of fine arts and museum affairs, we sincerely thank President Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich Tokayev for this historic decision."

The Acting Director of the Central State Museum, Galiya Temirton, emphasized that the new status is a well-deserved recognition of the museum's long-standing contribution to the preservation and promotion of Kazakhstan's historical and cultural heritage.

Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Zhaken Taymagambetov also welcomed the Decree of the Head of State:

"The Central State Museum has long and rightfully deserved to be called National, thanks to the high professionalism of its specialists. I congratulate all employees on this important event and wish them continued success in museum and scientific activities!"

Ethnographer and Candidate of Historical Sciences Tattigul Kartayeva highlighted the special significance of granting national status to the country’s leading museums.

"These museums are not just repositories of artifacts; they are key centers affirming the territorial integrity of Kazakhstan and the richness of its cultural heritage. Granting them national status is an important step in the development of the country’s museum industry. We all work in the same direction—developing archaeology, ethnology, anthropology, and museum studies. The President's Decree confirms that our scientific research and practical training are reflected in the work of these museums, which serve as true scientific centers," she concluded.
