Scientists from the National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books, during a business trip to the Kyzylorda region, discovered valuable manuscripts and rare books covering the period of the 18th-20th centuries. Among the 24 works are manuscripts about Sharia, written at the end of the 18th century, and Akhmet Yasawi’s book “Divani Hikmet”, published by the Kazan Publishing House in 1904 and 1912.
Scientists also managed to find the Koran and a commentary on it in the Turkic language, “Jami ar-Rumuz”, published in Egypt in 1909-1910 “Badai al-Sanai fi Tairab al-Sharay” (“Wonderful arts in ordering the path”), sixth a volume of the book “Sharkh Kanz ad Dakaik”, dated 1898, a collection of “Kans ad Dakaik” (Treasure of Precision), the wisdom of Sufi Allayar, published in Tashkent and the book “Nur Al Gashykin” (Sufism). All works were donated to the National Center fund.
Experts also added to the collection the work “Haftiyak Sharif”, a lithographic print published in Kazan, a book on fiqh, and “Ghiyas al-Lugha” (dictionary).
“All the unique works were kept in chests and attics of the region’s residents. They are poorly preserved and need restoration. Currently, documents are being disinfected and disinfested in the restoration and conservation laboratory. Then we will begin restoration and start the process of making copies,” Kamshat Parimbekova, head of the department of the research organization of the National Center, shared her plans.
The delegation visited state libraries, museums and archival institutions. The center’s specialists will continue to search and study national heritage kept by private individuals.
