The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is 10 years old

The exhibition “Painting of the steppe: symbols, colors, images” opened today at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in honor of its 10th anniversary.
The exhibition presents 200 legendary works by 50 outstanding and recognized masters of art of Kazakhstan, such as Abylkhan Kasteev, Aubakir Ismailov, Ural Tansykbaev, Salikhiddin Aitbaev, Uke Azhiev, Aisha Galimbaeva, Gulfairus Ismailova, Kamil Mullashev, as well as modern works by young and talented authors.

The concept of the exhibition involves thematic zoning of space: “Historical subjects in Kazakh painting”, “Images of nature - the wealth and diversity of landscape motifs”, “Women artists in the art of Kazakhstan”, “Contemporary art - new names”.

Visitors can see vivid images of Kazakh national fine art, paintings and tapestries, complemented by works of traditional jewelry, weaving, crafts, and musical instruments.
Many exhibits are exhibited for the first time, some works are after restoration.

Also on display is a documentary film by Bakhyt Kairbekov, “The Way of Water,” in which images of the nature of Kazakhstan are accompanied by the music of kobyz, dombra and poetry by the director himself.

“Over its 10-year history, our museum has collected a unique fund. We would like residents and guests of the capital to see beautiful exhibits and masterpieces of Kazakh painting. I think every visitor to the exhibition will find something special for themselves,” says Aibek Sydykov, acting director of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The exhibition will be held until July 31, 2024.
