The President, at the operational headquarters deployed in the city of Tobol, met with residents of the villages of the Kostanay region affected by the flood.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked everyone for their civic activity and concern, noting that the unity of the people is clearly manifested in such difficult times.

– I came specifically to meet you. I understand the situation is difficult. All resources available to the state are directed to solving the corresponding problem. As President, I see it as my priority to provide maximum assistance to you affected by the floods, - said the Head of State.

The President announced that he had decided to introduce a regime of austerity of public funds in order to send them to citizens. He also assured that all victims will be provided with the necessary assistance.

– The most important thing is compensation, and it will be paid. Moreover, funds will be allocated to those who have lost their housing or need repairs. Whoever wants to move into apartments, we will buy and provide apartments. For those who want to stay where they are, but under no circumstances should they stay in dangerous places, we will build standard houses for those people. There is a design for such houses. These houses will be built en masse throughout the summer and into winter. I set a task for the Government so that construction would be launched in the coming summer months, as well as in the fall, and the consequences of the disaster would be completely eliminated, - said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

In addition, the Head of State stated that major entrepreneurs of the country would be assigned to each region in order to overcome the consequences of floods.

In turn, citizens expressed gratitude for the timely rescue and prompt assistance in eliminating the consequences of the floods. As residents said, the current situation clearly demonstrated the unity of the people. From the first days of the natural disaster, concerned people, including volunteers, government officials, law enforcement officers and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, were involved in providing comprehensive assistance.

The President said that he would cancel the decision and prohibit the removal of the saiga population, which are symbols of the Kazakh steppe.

In conclusion, the President noted that next year he plans to visit Arkalyk to participate in events dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the famous Kazakh figure of the Alash movement Mirzhakip Dulatov.
