The capital hosted the opening of the largest international automobile exhibition in Central Asia, Automechanika Astana 2024. The event was organized by Business Media Central Asia with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in partnership with the global exhibition organizer Messe Frankfurt GbMH. Previously, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between JSC National Company Kazakh Tourism and the Messe Frankfurt representative office for the Asian region (Hong Kong) as part of the opening of the year of Kazakhstan tourism in China in March this year.

The exhibition opened on April 17 and will run until April 19, 2024 at the EXPO International Exhibition Center in Astana, showcasing a wide range of innovative products, services and technologies to an international audience.

Automechanika Astana 2024 welcomes more than 450 exhibitors from 20 countries and features three national pavilions, with the number of visitors expected to exceed 15,000 people. The exhibition area is about 14,000 m2.

Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erzhan Erkinbayev took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

“As part of the opening of the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with one of the largest companies, Messe Frankfurt. Under this agreement, Messe Frankfurt held the international exhibition Automechanika Astana 2024. Astana is rightfully the political, administrative, business and cultural center of the country. The city has all the necessary congress and exhibition infrastructure to call the city the center of “MICE tourism” in Central Asia.We try to make the service convenient and enjoyable for tourists. This, in turn, has a significant impact on the development of the national economy and its integration into the world market. For example, Automechanika Astana 2024 attracts up to 15,000 spectators, of which 3,000 were residents of non-CIS countries. According to statistics, each tourist can spend from 1,400 USD during their stay in our country,” said Yerzhan Erkinbaev.

Among the participating countries are China, Denmark, Germany, India, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Turkey, UAE, Poland, Russian Federation, Belarus, USA, Estonia, South Korea, Japan. This once again emphasizes the global interest in Central Asia, and in particular in Kazakhstan, as a hub for business and congress tourism.
