Civil protection services continue to carry out flood control measures, eliminate the consequences of floods and provide assistance to the population in the Atyrau, Aktobe, Western and North Kazakhstan regions.

In the West Kazakhstan region the situation has stabilized. Monitoring of flooded dacha areas continues. Employees of the departments of emergency situations and the police are conducting joint patrols of flooded areas.

The assigned forces and assets of the consolidated groups of the Emergency Situations Departments of the Aktobe and Turkestan regions were redeployed from the West Kazakhstan region to the Atyrau region to carry out flood control measures in settlements located along the Zhaiyk River.

Monitoring continues in the Atyrau region, and an increase in water levels is observed. In order to prevent flood situations along the Zhaiyk River in the city of Atyrau, bank protection work is continuously carried out. To date, 240 km of protective dams have been strengthened. The previously arrived assigned forces and assets are distributed among the areas and carry out the required amount of work.

Water was diverted and pumped out from 6,082 residential buildings and 2,584 courtyard areas in the North Kazakhstan, Atyrau and Aktobe regions. Across the republic, 35,122 people returned to their homes. 8,520 people remain in evacuation centers.

In total, over 25 thousand people and 3 thousand pieces of equipment, 634 water pumping equipment, 268 watercraft, and 14 aircraft are involved in rescue and flood control operations.
