In the Atyrau region, protective structures were erected along 41 settlements. In total, more than 500 km of protective structures were erected in the region during the flood period. Today, a group of rescuers from 10 regions, including military personnel from the military units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, is in the region. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations monitor the water level in the Zhaiyk River hourly. Work continues around the clock to pump water from flooded areas. In the city of Kulsary, water was diverted from 2,564 residential buildings.

Civil protection services, volunteers and involved organizations continue to work to eliminate the flood and provide assistance to the population in the Atyrau, Aktobe, West Kazakhstan and North Kazakhstan regions.

Throughout the republic, water was diverted from 7,089 private residential buildings and 2,834 courtyards, and 39,352 people returned to their homes. 6,552 people remain in evacuation centers.

Since the beginning of the flood, over 13.1 million m3 of melt water have been pumped out, 7.6 million bags and 1.5 million tons of inert material have been laid.

In total, more than 17 thousand people and about 2 thousand pieces of equipment, 291 water pumping equipment and 203 watercraft are involved in rescue and flood control work, 7 aircraft.
