May 15 this year at the plenary meeting of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the draft Law “On the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on the creation and regulation of the activities of an industrial trade and logistics complex in the area of ​​the Karasu and Ak-Tilek road checkpoints” was approved

“The complex will be located near the Karasu and Ak-Tilek checkpoints and will consist of production sites, warehouses for storing goods, as well as transport and logistics infrastructure,” said Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebaev.

As part of the formation of the Complex, conditions will be created for the implementation of cooperation projects, such as the production of dairy, meat, berries and vegetables, textiles and pharmaceutical products.

Ratification of the Agreement will have a beneficial impact on economic development, strengthening trade and economic ties between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan and will increase trade turnover to $3 billion.
