Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Liu Guozhong, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.

During the conversation, the current state and prospects for the development of the Kazakh-Chinese strategic partnership, the progress of implementation by the governments of the two countries of the agreements previously reached by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping were discussed.
The head of state noted that Kazakhstan has been and remains a reliable partner of China. According to him, bringing bilateral relations with China to a new qualitative level is the most important priority for our country.

– I would like to note with great satisfaction that the Kazakh-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership and eternal friendship are continuously developing in an ascending line and are aimed at the future. China is Kazakhstan's leading trade and economic partner, ranking first in terms of bilateral trade volume. At the end of 2023, this figure reached a record $40 billion. We set the goal of bringing trade turnover to $100 billion. We believe that this figure is quite achievable,” said the President of Kazakhstan.
Liu Guozhong also noted the positive dynamics in the development of cooperation between China and Kazakhstan.

– As a long-time and good friend of the Chinese people, over the years you have made an important contribution to the development of Chinese-Kazakh relations, which is highly appreciated by the Chinese side. I am confident that under your leadership, Kazakhstan will move forward in the development of the state and the building of a powerful and prosperous New Kazakhstan. China and Kazakhstan are good neighbors, reliable partners and very good friends who complement each other,” noted Liu Guozhong.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, agriculture, transport and logistics, energy and tourism. Issues of developing cultural and humanitarian ties were also discussed.
